PLEASE consider increasing the value of your dollars to us via the Fannie Mae Help the Homeless program.

Here’s how it works:

Instead of making your check out to Gaithersburg HELP this fall (August-October 2010), you can nearly double the value of your donation by making your check out to “Fannie Mae Help the Homeless/CFNCR”, but still mailing the check to Gaithersburg HELP as always.  This will allow us to use your donation to pay registration fees for walkers that cannot afford the fees. Gaithersburg HELP benefits by receiving the full value of your donation PLUS we will get credit for many more walkers toward the incentive bonuses given by Fannie.  This essentially doubles your donation!!

Last year we earned over $55,000 through the Help the Homeless program. We had 1,364 paid, registered walkers which brought in $27,157 in fees (100% comes right back to us), and we were rewarded with a $20,000 incentive bonus on top of that. If we can raise the number of walkers to 1,500 this year, we can earn a $25,000 bonus!!! So you can see that every single walker adds to that total and we need every walker, even if they cannot afford the fee. That’s where we can use your donation made out to “Fannie Mae Help the Homeless/CFNCR” to pay those fees, and therefore, count more walkers toward our incentive bonus opportunity.

If you have already made a contribution this year, please think about using the Help the Homeless sponsor method in the fall next year. Gaithersburg HELP will get twice the bang for your buck!
