[more…]I got Gaithersburg HELP’s number through a friend who told me that HELP provided food. I am a single mom with two kids and the assistance from HELP has been enormous. Getting fruit, vegetables, milk, cereal, etc., has been very helpful. It has helped me financially with about 50% of my expenses. I pray that we keep receiving help from Gaithersburg HELP and other organizations because it’s very important for the Hispanic community.
I don’t have much work, and my partner’s work has also slowed down. Food prices are still high, and it is hard to pay other bills like rent and electricity. A friend told me about Gaithersburg HELP, and I got food for the first time. I really like the fresh food. The volunteer gave me numbers for other food organizations, which I really appreciated.
The circumstances are that in this economy, it’s been hard paying bills and getting enough work. The food Gaithersburg HELP gives has been extremely useful in helping us out in these times.
I am a veteran and my disability ran out. It took a year and a half to get it back. During that time my social worker recommended Gaithersburg HELP so that is how I got started. Thanks for the new info about transportation, which I will ask for when I need it.
Being on social security disability and with a very low income, I had to decide whether to get food or get my medications. Thanks to you I no longer have to make that terrible decision. Thank you!
My husband lost his job, and we are having trouble paying rent. I started looking for other ways to help, and I found that we could get food from Gaithersburg HELP and save money that way. We didn’t have milk, eggs, and other things. The food we get from you has been like an unexpected gift, a surprise, and it makes me emotional thinking about how grateful we are for all that you do for us.
For me, it’s the best pantry I’ve ever visited and they give you good stuff! They are so organized. They are also very pleasant.
Gaithersburg HELP is an all-volunteer organization that provides basic needs assistance to people and families in the Gaithersburg area. We work right here in our own community and can respond quickly to give timely help for vital services.
