How To Volunteer

There are numerous volunteer opportunities at Gaithersburg HELP. A majority are during weekday business hours, but a few weekend and evening options are also available. We rely heavily on our network of volunteers to provide services for these areas and divisions:

Our current priority needs are:
Volunteer Position | Description |
Call Center-Prescription Financial | Work at home using your phone, computer and internet access; return calls and assist clients with medical prescriptions or temporary financial funding; phone hours vary M-F 9AM to 3PM. |
Call Center-Bilingual Assistance | Work at home using your phone, computer and internet access; return calls and assist Spanish-speaking clients find needed services; phone hours vary M-F 9AM to 5PM. |
Call Center-Transportation Requests | Work at home using your phone, computer and internet access; return calls to clients and schedule drivers to provide transportation to and from medical or social service office appointments; phone hours vary M-F 9:30AM to 5PM. |
Driver-Client Transportation | Drive clients to and from medical or social service office appointments; driving hours vary M-F 8AM to 5PM. |
Pantry-Food Bagger | Pack grocery bags for clients to pickup at the pantry. Must be comfortable lifting and moving bags of groceries into carts or onto shelves; hours vary M-F 2PM to 4PM. |
